They’ll say anything.

They simply will say anything. Like the latest one – that Obama was exchanging emails, text messages, and having phone calls with George Clooney about everything from body language to foreign policy.

Jeffrey Ressner of Politico explains:

The Obama-Clooney story was concocted from anonymous sources. Yet it spread throughout the world within hours. It was quickly picked up by The Drudge Report and television networks ranging from Fox News to NBC. The overall result served to bolster Republican candidate John McCain’s dubious contention that his rival Obama is a vapid “celebrity” rather than presidential material.

George Clooney said nothing of the kind happened and has offered a million bucks to anyone who can prove it to be true.

Gee. I am shocked, shocked, that it was picked up by Drudge and Fox. But, NBC too? Criminee guys, get a grip! Pay attention. Do some journalism.
