Freethinkers, secularists, humanists – a view from Texas

The Samantha Clemens Show on WMFO 91.5 FM

Do you believe in the supernatural?  Why or why not?  Where do you find comfort when horrible things happen – when those that are close to us die or a national tragedy affects us all?  If you do not believe in the supernatural, that is, God, where do you get your values from?

Sam interviews Becky Robinson, President of the Freethinkers of UTA (University of Texas at Arlington) and Executive Secretary of Student Secularist Alliance.  Becky recently attended a conference on Humanism in Cambridge, Massachusetts April 20-22 and shares her views on science, values and finding comfort in times of tragedy  She also talks about cultural differences between living in Texas and the northeastern United States in terms of people’s relationship with the supernatural and where they find their values.
